Rivièra Maison processes the personal data of customers, website visitors, employees, suppliers, external business relations and applicants.

3. Why does Rivièra Maison process personal data?

Rivièra Maison processes personal data for various reasons. We require your personal data further to the contractual agreements in place between you and Rivièra Maison. In any case we require it for:

  • Orders

  • Delivery and collection

  • Returns

  • Repairs

  • Guarantees

  • Contact with Customer Services

  • Rivièra Maison Corporate

 

We strive to we provide you with a personal service. After all, that is in both our interests. To that end we use your personal data say for:

  • Customer satisfaction surveys

  • To help us improve our service provision, including the user-friendliness of our website

  • Contact with Customer Services

  • Bespoke advice (personalised advertisements)

  • Social media

  • Fraud prevention, the prevention or handling of shoplifting

We are legally bound to pass certain data on to other organisations, or to save it. This applies for example to:

4. Does Rivièra Maison also process particular personal data?

In order to safeguard both you and our stock, and for security reasons, we have camera surveillance in our shop.


5. How does Rivièra Maison process my personal data?

Rivièra Maison respects and protects your personal data. We comply with the following rules:

  1. We handle your personal data confidentially;

  2. We only use your details to deliver products and services to you;

  3. We only process data that is necessary;

  4. We only retain your personal data for the minimum statutory time required to process your details;

  5. We only use data that is strictly necessary.

Your personal data can only be used by Rivièra Maison employees for whom the details are a job requirement. No-one else is permitted to process your personal data. Moreover, the employees who process your personal data are bound by confidentiality. Your personal data may be shared within the Rivièra Maison group. A local business processes personal data on behalf of Rivièra Maison.

WWe share personal data with third parties whom we engage for our service provision. For example, delivery companies, repairers, payment companies, communication agencies and IT service providers. We only engage these third parties further to demonstrable proof they comply with our privacy stipulations , and can guarantee confidentiality . Your personal data may also be provided to third parties if we are legally obligated to do so. For example, to the Tax Authority. Your personal data is not sold on.

Our website contains links to the Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube websites. This Privacy  and Cookie statement only applies to our website, and as such we recommend also taking a look at the privacy statements of these websites.

After the statutory retention period, Rivièra Maison destroys it. Or, we use your data anonymously. When we no longer know what data belongs to whom. We do so for in-house analyses and reports, for example.

 

The retention period for particular data depends on the nature of the data and the purposes for which the data is being processed. These are the various retention periods:

  • We delete camera imagery after 4 weeks. Unless we have ascertained an incident. In which case we retain the images until it has been fully dealt with.

  • Inactive Rivièra Maison My Accounts are deleted after 7 years.

  • We delete customer data 3 years after the economic lifespan of the most recently purchased product has elapsed.

 

Your personal data is saved within the European Union. In the unlikely event personal data is shared with countries outside of the European Union, we ensure your privacy remains adequately protected. In such instances we enter into specific contracts to safeguard your privacy.


6. Which rules must Rivièra Maison comply with in the processing of personal data?

When processing personal data Rivièra Maison must comply, among others, with the:

  • General Data Protection Regulation

  • General Data Protection Regulation Implementation Act

  • Telecommunications Act 


7. Which personal data does Rivièra Maison process for me? 

Rivièra Maison mainly processes basic personal details such as name, address, place of residence, gender, e-mail address, telephone number and payment details. This information is necessary to process your order in a good way.

Depending on the method of ordering or the contact you have with us, we ask you to indicate personal preferences that help us make the service more personal. These preferences are usually optional, but sometimes also necessary because they were the reason why you use that service.

1. Online purchasing

We use your personal data to process your online orders and returns, and to inform you of your order status. We also use your personal data to process your payments and to handle complaints and product guarantees.

We like to offer various payment methods. As such we work with different partners (Ayden and Klarna). With retrospective payment (Klarna), the payment partner undertakes a credit check. We have no insights in the credit checks.

If you have a My Account, we also process your log-in details.

Your personal data is forwarded to warehouse and distribution suppliers in relation to your order delivery, and to payment service providers in relation to your payment.

We use your personal data to create and manage your personal account.

We provide you with an overview of your order history and details of your orders, and enable you to edit your details (such as name and addresses).

We will always process the email address and password you provided us with when you registered for My Account.

  • product watch list

  • newsletter subscriptions

Data forwarded to courier companies is used to deliver the prizes.

8. Can I see the personal data Rivièra Maison has processed about me?

Yes, you can. You can see the majority of the personal data we have processed about you via your My Account in our web shop. You can change your personal data at any time.

If you do not have a My Account and/or you would like to see all the personal data Rivièra Maison has processed about you, please submit a request. You can request to change (improve) and/or block your personal data. Your request can be submitted by email.

Rivièra Maison is obligated to delete your personal data once the statutory retention period has lapsed, or when we no longer require your details. In addition, you can submit a deletion request. If you would like your data to be deleted, you can email us. We will delete your details, barring in the following instances:

 

  • You have an active case with Customer Services;

  • You have an open order that hasn't yet, or has only been partially, delivered;

  • You have an outstanding payment due to Rivièra Maison, irrespective of the payment method;

  • The statutory retention period hasn't yet come to an end.

 

When we process your personal data further to your consent or further to processing an order, you can receive a copy of your data in a structured, generic and readable format. This only pertains to the personal data you have provided us with.

You can withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal data at any time. We block your personal data as soon as we receive your consent withdrawal. To withdraw your consent please email us.

Having subscribed to our newsletter, should you wish to do so, you can unsubscribe via the link at the bottom of each newsletter. You can do so at any time.

If you object to direct marketing, please follow the instructions to opt out in the marketing email we have sent you. We will unsubscribe you with immediate effect.

9. Who do I contact with a question or complaint?

If you have a question or comment about how Rivièra Maison processes personal data, you can:

 

If you have a complaint about how your personal data is processed, you can send an email to contact_us@rivieramaison.nl. You will receive a reply in writing to your complaint within one month. If you are dissatisfied with our response, you can:

  1. initiate legal proceedings

  2. submit a request to the Data Protection Authority asking them to arbitrate or advise you in your dispute with us.


10. How am I affected as an applicant?

Wij hechten veel waarde aan de bescherming van de privacy van onze sollicitanten. We gaan dan ook zorgvuldig om met de persoonsgegevens die wij van u als sollicitant ontvangen. De persoonlijke gegevens die u aan ons versterkt, gebruiken wij alleen om uw sollicitatie af te handelen of om u vacatures toe te sturen. Uw gegevens worden niet voor andere doeleinden gebruikt. Stuur ons alleen informatie die relevant is voor uw sollicitatie.

We bewaren uw gegevens gedurende het gehele sollicitatieproces. Uw gegevens zijn alleen toegankelijk voor degenen die bij de sollicitatie zijn betrokken. Vier weken na afloop van de sollicitatie worden uw gegevens verwijderd. Als we uw gegevens langer bewaren, vragen we uw toestemming. In dat geval blijven uw gegevens een jaar bewaard en worden daarna vernietigd.

 

We attach great importance to protecting the privacy of our applicants. We therefore treat the personal data we receive from you as an applicant with great care. Rivièra Maison uses the personal details you provide to process your application or to inform you of vacancies. Your details are not used for any other purpose. Only send us information that is relevant to your application.

We save your personal data for the duration of the application process. Your details are only accessible to the people dealing with the application. Your details are deleted four weeks after the application process has ended. We will request your consent should we save your details for longer . In such an instance your details are saved for one year, after which they are deleted.

 

Application system

When processing responses to our vacancies, we also use the BRANDMANNEN application system. We have made arrangements with BRANDMANNEN via a processing agreement that safeguards your privacy.

Once you have sent the application form, your personal data will be stored in a secure manner in a BRANDMANNEN database. Your personal data will be treated confidentially, will only be accessible to recruiters and assessors of Rivièra Maison, will only be used for recruitment and selection purposes and will not be passed on to third parties. Your data is saved within the European Union.

No more than four weeks after the application process has been completed via the application system , your NAW data will be anonymised so that it can no longer be traced back to you. Your CV and cover letters will be deleted. With due observance of the applicable laws and regulations, the anonymised data will be used by BRANDMANNEN for labour market advice.

If your data is included in the talent pool after permission, we will store your application data for a maximum of 1 year. Before this period expires, you will receive a request as to whether you wish to stay in the talent pool for another year. If you do not agree, we will delete all your data.

By sending your application, you consent to the processing of your personal data by Rivièra Maison and BRANDMANNEN.

 

Inspection & complaints

You are entitled to access, amend and delete your personal data. You can also object to how your personal data is processed, and can request deletion of your data from our system. You can submit a request by sending an e-mail to Feline Goos via f.goos@riviera-maison.nl. You will receive a written reply within one month. You can also send privacy-related questions and complaints to this address. Don't forget to send in a copy of your ID so we can be sure it is your data we are deleting or changing. Remember to black out your personal identifier and photo. 


11. Can Rivièra Maison amend this statement?

Yes, this Privacy and Cookie statement may alter now and again. We will update the Privacy and Cookie statement as and when new developments occur or to reflect new legislation. The most up-to-date version of our Privacy and Cookie statement can always be found on our website.
